Book One
TITLE: Transfiguration
SPOILER WARNING: Revelations; Momento Mori; Christmas Carol; Emily
RATING: PG for a little bit of language.
CONTENT WARNING: Strong religious content, handled as respectfully as I know how.
CLASSIFICATION: SRA; MSR
SUMMARY: Sometimes everybody needs a helping hand.
NOTE: Despite the similarity in titles, this story is in no way related to "Transmigration."
TITLE: As I Knew He Would
SPOILER WARNING: Beyond the Sea; Ascension; One Breath, Redux II
RATING: PG, I suppose. No bad language, no sex, no violence.
But it ain't Disney.
CONTENT WARNING: Religious content, handled as respectfully as I know how.
CLASSIFICATION: SRA; Maggie/Bill, sr; MSR
SUMMARY: A companion piece to Transfiguration; it will make little sense if you haven't read that one. This is what Maggie saw and was thinking.
DEDICATION: Comps to Rachel Lewis for putting the idea into my head that there could be more. Any coolness herein is a credit to her; any lack of same is my responsibility.
TITLE: Faith and Acceptance
SPOILER WARNING: Revelations; Momento Mori; Christmas Carol; Emily; FTF
RATING: PG, mostly for a few bad words, plus adult situations and stuff. No sex, though. Sorry, guys. Maybe next time.
CONTENT WARNING: Religious content, handled as respectfully as I know how.
CLASSIFICATION: SRA; MSR Heavy on both the "A" and the "R".
SUMMARY: Scully and Mulder work towards closure, but nothing worth having is ever easy to obtain.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a sequel to Transfiguration; it will make little sense if you haven't read that one. As I Knew He Would is a companion piece to these two, but reading AIKHW is NOT necessary to understanding the sequence of events, I think.
DEDICATION: Transfiguration was supposed to be a stand-alone, but Rachel Lewis wrote me and demanded a sequel. After some thought, I produced As I Knew He Would, which is not exactly a sequel, but is a companion piece. Now I have a true sequel, and of course we owe it all to Rachel's insistence. Also as always, any flaws herein are my responsibility.
TITLE: Reconciliation
SPOILER WARNING: Beyond the Sea; Momento Mori; Redux II
RATING: PG-13, for language, and for a suggestion of adult sexual situations
CONTENT WARNING: Character death (not M or S, if it matters)
CLASSIFICATION: SRA; MSR; Maggie/Bill, sr; MaggieAngst
SUMMARY: Bill, jr, arrives at his mother's home unexpectedly, and receives an unpleasant surprise.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: As much as I usually try to make each of my stories stand on its own, that's not possible in this case; you need to have read the other three stories to understand what is going on here.
I should also note that this story is in no way related to my two other "Bill Scully" stories ("Insurmountable Opportunities" and "Seven Days in November").
DEDICATION: I should acknowledge the debt I owe to Helen Wills, whose wonderful story "One Sorry Son of a Bitch" reminds us all that Maggie Scully is a tough woman who does not tolerate nonsense from her children (to put it mildly). Naturally, I am not attempting to compare my own story to Helen's; my work must stand or fall on its own. But you really ought to read her story; it is available on Gossamer, and I highly recommend it.
TITLE: Decompression and Relativity
SPOILER WARNING: Pilot; Lazarus
RATING: PG-13.
CONTENT WARNING: Adult situations. No sex, though. Don't worry; we'll get there eventually.
CLASSIFICATION: SRa; MSR Very brief angst.
SUMMARY: It's been a rough couple of days, and Mulder and Scully finally get to enjoy a little quality time together, thanks to Maggie.
TITLE: Dark Midnight of the Soul
SPOILER WARNING: FTF
RATING: PG
CONTENT WARNING: None
CLASSIFICATION: SRA; MSR
SUMMARY: A Silver Bracelet story. Awake in the middle of the night, Mulder is overcome with anxiety for their future together. Scully soothes his fears, and plans are made.
NOTE: Well, the Season 6 premiere is out, and now we know with certainty that the Silver Bracelet stories are incompatible with canon. Assume that we are in an alternate universe, that diverges after FTF.
TITLE: What Does He See When He Looks at Me?
SPOILER WARNING: Pilot
RATING: R
CONTENT WARNING: Sexual content
CLASSIFICATION: VRA; MSR
SUMMARY: Scully's thoughts as she prepares for New Year's Eve..
TITLE: Consummation
SPOILER WARNING: The Blessing Way/Paperclip (oblique)
RATING: NC-17 Yup, we're going for the gold, this time, folks. So if you're under 18, or offended by explicit sex between consenting adults, now is the time to bail.
CONTENT WARNING: A smallish inside joke, discernable to anyone who has been reading ATXC for the last few weeks. No harm intended to anyone; just good clean fun. And Rachel, I love ya; thanks for the picture, and thanks for helping to make this all a reality.
CLASSIFICATION: SRa, MSR
SUMMARY: Sometimes the hero really does get the girl...and vice versa!
TITLE: Charlie
SPOILER WARNING: Lazarus; The Blessing Way; Paper Clip
RATING: PG-13, for a little bad language
CONTENT WARNING: None.
CLASSIFICATION: SRA, MSR. But you already knew that, right?
SUMMARY: Mulder is invited to the Scully family's Twelfth Night celebration, and discovers that there is more involved than he had realized.
TITLE: Epiphany
SPOILER WARNING: FTF
RATING: PG-13, for language
CONTENT WARNING: Big time CharlieAngst.
CLASSIFICATION: SRA, MSR, Charlie/other
SUMMARY: Charlie Scully copes with memories of a tragedy, and finds comfort from a surprising source.
TITLE: A Woman in Love
SPOILER WARNING: None
RATING: PG, for suggestions of sexual situations. Nothing explicit, though.
CONTENT WARNING: None
CLASSIFICATION: SRa, MSR. Duh.
SUMMARY: Dana needs to find Mulder a Christmas present, and Charlie helps her find just the thing.
TITLE: Princess Leia Races Home Aboard Her Starship
SPOILER WARNING: Minor ones for Fallen Angel and Lazarus
RATING: NC-17 Oh, yeah....
CONTENT WARNING: Smut. Language. Smut.
CLASSIFICATION: SR, MSR
SUMMARY: Two lovers. A sofa. A classic movie. A lime green negligee. Need I say more?
Oh, yes ...this is a Silver Bracelet story. It pretty much stands on its own, but reading Charlie, Epiphany and A Woman in Love would add some nuance.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I want to acknowledge my literary debt to Rachel Anton and Laura Blaurosen. I'll explain why in another note at the end of the story; I don't want to give away TOO much... ;)
TITLE: Partners Forever
SPOILER WARNING: Minor ones for Tooms, One Breath and Detour
RATING: PG-13, I think. Sexual content.
CONTENT WARNING: Hmm. Some might consider the ending to be a bit sappy. But *I* like it.
CLASSIFICATION: SRA, MSR
SUMMARY: M & S discuss the future, and we finally get a little bit of closure. A Silver Bracelet story.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: It is probably necessary to read at least two prior entries in this series in order to catch everything that's going on: Transfiguration and Consummation.
Also: At the very end of this story is a tribute to Macspooky's story "Generations: A Wonderful Day".
This is probably the last in the series -- at least for awhile. There is potential for future developments in this relationship, but this particular story arc seems to be reasonably complete at last.
Fair notice: When I wrote "All the King's Horses", back in January, I fully intended to continue with another complete novel set in this universe. I still sort of intend to do that, and I even have a pretty good idea of where I want to go with it. However, I must now admit, six months after I wrote this story, that the project is stalled. I've made several attempts to continue with the second story in this book, but never got past the first page. I'll add to this when I can; for now, be warned that if you read the following story you will be running into a major, angsty cliffhanger, with no real hope of a resolution in the immediate future.
Sorry ....
Book Two
TITLE: All the King's Horses
SPOILER WARNING: Anasazi/The Blessing Way; FTF
RATING: PG
CONTENT WARNING: MSR; SkinnerAngst; MulderAngst; ScullyAngst
CLASSIFICATION: SRA
SUMMARY: Everything of any value has its price.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a continuation of the Silver Bracelet universe, which exists in an alternate timeline which diverges from the one on the TV sometime after FTF. Specifically, Season 6 never happened.
FINALLY: It is not necessary to read the first set of stories to understand this one. The only thing you really need to know is that Mulder and Scully are engaged in a committed, romantic relationship, which has been going on for just about a month as the curtain rises....
